Dianna: Where did you come up with the name TV/TV. Is there a story behind the name?
Josh: I came up with the name after learning about the berkley
film group "TVTV" who pioneered guerilla style documentary making in
the 70's. we added the /. We liked the history behind the name and
thought it was a bit different.
Dianna:
Your songs can be heard everywhere now from The Real world to EA Sports
NHL. What's it like hearing your songs everywhere?
Josh: It’s kinda funny.
Dianna: What was it like working with producer Zach Odom and Kenneth Mount?
Josh: We love working with those guys. They really help us take the songs to the place we want them to be.
Dianna: Who would you say are some of your biggest influences inside and outside of the music industry?
Josh: The Killers, The Rolling Stones, The Hives, The Clash, Max Martin.
Dianna: Is it tough being a three piece? It seems the more convention number for bands is four or five.
Josh: Well we are now a four piece we just have not made the announcement yet....
Dianna: What do you think sets you apart from a lot of the other indie pop bands coming out in today’s music?
Josh: We have real strong pop sensibility. We offer a nice blend of Pop, Indie and Punk,
Dianna: What is the writing process like for TV/TV? What would you say are your main inspirations when writing?
Josh:
We like to tell stories and we try to draw from personal experience as
much as possible but sometimes its fiction. We generally write about
the struggle of being young in NYC. I usually write core ideas
with the guitarist Doc Holliday and then bring them to the band.
Everyone in the band acts as a producer to make the song better in the
writing stage.
Dianna: What would you say is the worst part about being on tour?
Josh: We never get enough sleep and sometimes the food choices can be really bad.
Dianna: Any idea when fans should be expecting your next release?
Josh: Our new music should be out before the summertime. We are finishing recording currently.
Dianna:
It's been officially announced that you guys are playing all of Warped
Tour this summer. Care to give us a hint as to what you might be
playing or what stage you might be on?
Josh: We will be playing the Skull Candy Stage and you can expect to hear at least 3 new songs on the tour.
Dianna: Thanks again for talking to us, do you have anything left to say to all of your fans?
Josh: I want to say thank you to our fans and if you haven’t hear TV/TV check us out!
