Michael: Thank you for taking the time out to talk to us, It really means a lot.

Noah: No problem!! I’m always glad to talk about music.

Michael: When did you first decide to become a musician?

Noah: Oh dear...I don’t think I ever *decided* to become a musician. Music is in my blood. It never even occurred to me, really, to be anything else. I mean I do have other interests that are extremely important to me, but music has always sort of just been 'there'.

Michael: You’ve had 12 years of piano study and three years of vocal training, do you have any other training or do you play any other instruments?

Noah: I don’t play any other instruments, unfortunately. Piano is not as cool or convenient as a guitar! My friends can all just pick up a guitar in the middle of nowhere and start playing...I've always been jealous of that! I want to learn guitar at some point soon, though. As far as other training goes, in addition to the vocal training, I grew up in choirs and was in a few musicals and such when I was in school – I’ve had a taste of the stage before! I want more now!!

Michael: Where did you come up with the name Human Geometry for your upcoming release?

Noah: The name itself was sort of a mistake, I burned my hand. The burn was somehow very perfectly circular in shape...Human Geometry...it just made sense. The message, I guess, of the music is all about shapes and the ability to change shape. You are shaped by your past, and you can accept it, or you can take geometric control and shape your future.

Michael: Can you give away anything about what people can expect from Human Geometry?

Definitely. It’s dance music with heart, on many levels. Lyrically, it’s deeper than your run-of-the-mill pop, and musically, we tried to go beyond plain synthesizers and computer noises. We used real instruments and samples, so the result is more organic, but still grand and stomping.

Michael: What is the writing and recording process like for you? Do you ever collaborate with others when it comes to that?

The writing process was odd...for dance music, that is. I wrote things at the piano, the old fashioned way. I put everything onto the computer, on midi. I recorded my vocals and some of the live instruments at a studio it town and then I shipped everything over the internet to my collaborator, Monsieur Adi. The album was worked on online, for the most part. Monsieur Adi is a genius! His mind begins where mine ends.

Michael: Who would you say are some of your biggest influences inside and outside of the music industry?

Within the music industry, there are, of course the 80s heavyweights who are inspirational on more than a musical level. The way Prince, Madonna, Depeche Mode have managed their careers (as well as producing intense music) really speaks to me. Musically the French pop like Daft Punk and such are really moving.

Michael: What are your biggest inspirations when writing the lyrics to your song?

I can’t really think of actual inspirations when writing lyrics. I admire the lyrics of artists like Keane and Coldplay and that sort of sensitive, heartfelt lyrics. But I also feel that my own lyrics are quite straight-shooting. I have a lot of exploring I want to do lyrically.

Michael: Why did you decide to have Mannequin be the first single off of Human Geometry?

It’s a great representation of who I am musically. The dance is big and so are the thoughts behind them, it’s a good representation of Human Geometry.

Michael: Should we expect to see you on tour soon?

Yes! We're trying to work some stuff out but I will be announcing things as they come. I have many, many ideas for translating the music onto the stage.

Michael: What should fans expect when they go to see you perform live?

Like I said, we're still working on the show, but I want it to be a very visual show. Not to distract from the music, but to enhance. I have a background in visual art and fashion, so I think of the visual the moment I create the music. It’s all one thing to me.

Michael: Thank you again for taking the time out to talk to us. Anything else you’d like to say to all of your fans?

No problem at all! Thanks a lot. I would just like to thank everyone who's been with me so far and just let everyone know that we're working on some really, really great things. You guys need to go to the www.Myspace.com/Noahxmusic and enter the video contest for “Mannequin”. And of course, it’s on iTunes now!!
