Dianna:
The Devil Wears Prada is a Christian Rock band. Have you ever had
someone come up to you and argue about your beliefs but enjoy your
music?
Mike:
We have received flack for what we believe at times, but people are
usually very non-confrontational. They'd rather just flip us off from a
distance. There are plenty of people that have different beliefs but
enjoy the music, though, and that's fine with us. All we ask is for
respect.
Dianna: What are your inspirations as a band?
Mike:
Everyone draws different influences for their instrument or whatever
part we are writing. None of us are too stuck to the metalcore genre
to only be inspired by that.
Dianna: Your first two releases, Dear Love, A Beautiful Discord, and, Plagues are both released with Rise Records. Why is your new album going to be released with Ferret Records?
Mike:
To be blunt, the band and management felt like it was time to move on
to something new. Rise has done wonderful things for us and we are
very thankful for the relationship we had with Rise.
Dianna: What is making videos like?
Mike:
It can be tiring and annoying when you have to fake playing the same
song over and over again. It's also irritating when you have to wait a
month after the video to finally see it haha. I just get real
impatient. It's awesome to be able to make a video, though.
Dianna: What's the one question you have always wanted to be asked but never were? What's the answer?
Mike:
I always like new and exciting questions! If I knew what that question
was, it wouldn't be the best question ever haha. Just as long as I'm
not asked about the band name.
Dianna: What are some of the craziest things you have seen while on tour with Warped?
Mike: Chris got his first bra thrown at him on one Warped date. We definitely do not approve, but it makes for a good story.
Dianna: Of all your songs, which song is your favorite to play live?
Mike:
I always like playing some brand new song that we just wrote, but since
that has been a while, I do not have that pleasure. All songs tend to
get old after a while. I suppose Don't Dink and Drance is my favorite,
though.
Dianna: What is your goal as a band after Warped Tour is over?
Mike:
We have another tour in the fall, but between now, then, and the end of
the year, hopefully we can relax and spend time with loved ones, but
also write and get a new record ready.
Dianna:
Thank you for your time out: it is very appreciated, Sorry about the
previous interview getting messed up/ Any thing else you would like to
say to your fans?
Mike: Thank you if you have ever watched us or purchased one of our records.
