Dianna: I read that you originally went by the name Stars and Scars, what made you change your name?

Automatic Loveletter: A few reasons...1. Taste (laughs) 2. People got it wrong all the time..I've heard 'straps and scraps', 'scars and stars', starps and scares'. It was almost like the name was cursed..NO ONE ever got it right...ever haha.

Dianna: What has playing the whole Warped Tour been like?

Automatic Loveletter: Its been like a crazy circus...It gives you a good idea of what it might have been like to be a gypsy...showers are rare, everyone is a rebel so there's a lot of craziness going on, everyday you're selling your goods to the towns folk haha but all in all this is the best summer of my life and I don't ever want it to end.

Dianna: What is the funniest thing you have seen on Warped Tour this year?

Automatic Loveletter: Sean’s attempt to grow a beard...my drummer and bassist made a packed not to shave all summer and Daniel's (unlike Sean’s)is thick and full..ya know? A good man beard..but Sean’s is like a little red patchy Kevin Bacon beard.

Dianna: With so many female fronted bands just starting out, what do you think sets you apart?

Automatic Loveletter: Hmmm... Well what sets apart other male fronted bands from each other? Aside from the handful of male fronted bands, that all sound the same, out there..what sets them apart is their originality, lyrics, style and voice.. I feel like girls all get put into the same category/genre and are so compared all the time because there's so few of them..there's more attention on girls cause there's not a lot of them..I feel what sets us apart is having a girl singer that's being compared to the boys.

Dianna: You released the Recover EP earlier this year, why did you choose that as the name?

Automatic Loveletter: I think of the EP as a band aid..its there to (as emo as I can put it) mend your broken or breaking heart..every song on it is either sad, hopeless, or hopeful in a melancholy way..the EP in a sense is meant to help recover yourself.

Dianna: Have you made plans for after warped tour?

Automatic Loveletter: Yes, were shooting a video for make up smeared eyes and then in September Octoberish were going on tour with Mest and Quietdrive.

Dianna: Juliet provides guest vocals to many bands such as Cartel and LoveHateHero, have you thought of bringing someone in as a guest when you record a full length?

Automatic Loveletter: Yeah actually...I have a few people in mind. I’d love to have Ryan from Between the Trees, or Matt from From First To Last or even Alex from All Time Low...The duet we did on their record created a good response so it might be cool to do that again.

Dianna: Do you have any pre-show rituals you all do before each show?

Automatic Loveletter: Yes, warm up a good 25 minutes, hot water, honey, and lemon, Werther’s carmel drops, make sure I have a piece of gum in my back pocket (chewing gum when you sing keeps your throat moist and lubricated) and for some odd reason I like to stand in front of Daniel and flip him off before we start...and he does the same thing back...I don't know why but it’s something we started a while ago and every time we do it, it makes us laugh.

Dianna: Have any advice for bands just starting to try and get out in the music industry?

Automatic Loveletter: Yeah, don't ever stop if this is what u wanna do then go for it..anything’s possible

Dianna: Thanks again for talking to us. Do you have anything to say to all of your fans?

Automatic Loveletter: Heck yeah! We love you All! Yay!
