Walk off the Earth are nowhere near you typical band. They are a three piece reggae outfit that is shining light on a genre that rarely gets the attention it deserves. Not only that, but they are creative: putting a new spin on something old and making it work for them. Smooth like Stone on a Beach is a great effort by the act.

The CD opens with the track “Little Sin”. This song combines the vocal style of reggae with funk sounding music creating something totally new. “100 Proof Life” is the second song on the album. The guitars are something you can imagine Jason Mraz playing and to be honest I am perfectly okay with that. The title track stands out musically and is one song that gives you a real, straight forward reggae feel.

Overall this is a good CD. It doesn’t have the light, Summery, beach quality that the other disc has but honestly, still worth checking out. Good band, I wonder what they have in store for their next album…
