Mike O: Thanks again for taking the time out to talk to us!
Mikey P: No problem Mike! thanks for having me!
Mike O: Where did the name The Years Gone By come from, is there a story behind the name?
Mikey P: It was actually quite a few years ago on new years, we were thinking of names in our practice area, which is Nick's basement, and we all came up with the name and thought it fit well with us and our music.
Mike O: Was there ever a time you didn't want to play music for a living, or has being a musician always been your dream?
Mikey P: I've loved music ever since I was extremely young as well as all of the other dudes in the band and I think it's safe to say we all have wanted it all of our lives and being on stage playing music is what's in our blood and what were all meant to be doing.
Mike O: What would you say are some of your biggest musical influences? are they all generally one genre or do your taste vary?
Mikey P: My biggest music influences are New Found Glory, Blink 182, and Jimmy Eat World. We all like generally the same music but our music influences vary because we like all genres including old school r&b haha
Mike O: Your releasing Forever Comes Too Soon on September second. what should fan be expecting from it as compared to your earlier releases?
Mikey P: This release is going to be a lot faster as well as more intricate with our instrumental work. We've all grown up a bit since the EP and incorporated some new style in our new music but we still have the same TYGB sound.
Mike O: Are there going to be any special guest on your new release, if so who?
Mikey P: Nope no guests all you have this time is us ! haha
Mike O: What would you say are some of your biggest inspirations when writing?
Mikey P: Our inspirations are listening to what we have grown up listening to and keeping our music to our roots and writing music we love to play.
Mike O: Not so long ago you were playing in a garage only about ten minutes from where I live, now you've signed to Rise Records and have been playing an amazing amounts of shows. What do you contribute to your success?
Mikey P: Just keeping up online promotion, touring nonstop, making fans and friends and always keeping the fun factor in our music because once you lose the fun its a headache haha, and we still play those garages, those are the shows that will always stick out to us most, being close and personal with people who like our music is the best.
Mike O: A lot of fans want to know what equipment there favorite bands use, care to share?
Mikey P:Nick and I play Gibson guitars, as well as Fenders, I play Peavey and Nick plays Mesa Boogie amps, Louie plays Kent Custom drums, Silverfox Drum Sticks, and Paiste cymbals, Will plays Ampeg amps and Fender Guitars
