Mike O : Thanks for doing this!
Otis : No
problem, man!
Mike O : Where did the name Every Bridge
Burned come from, is there a story behind the name?
Otis : Our name basically came from us knowing we
were gonna have it hard from the beginning. We were from a small town
with no real music scene, not even any big cities close by to play, etc.
"Every Bridge Burned" was basically our way of saying we were going to
work very hard to do everything on our own.
Mike O :
What are some of the main influences of Every Bridge Burned?
Otis : We all absolutely love Poison The Well and The Bled. As
far as our "hardcore" influences, I'd say those are our biggest two.
Besides that we're usually jamming out to some Mayday Parade or Just
Surrender in the van!
Mike O : What does Aun Aprendo
mean exactly? Why did you choose that as your CD's name?
Otis : "Aun Aprendo" is Spanish for "I'm Still Learning." A
famous Spanish painter named Francisco de Goya did a charcoal drawing
and instead of signing it as his name, he signed it as Aun Aprendo. We
thought it was a cool concept for basically saying we recognize we're
still a young band and still have plenty of room to grow and mature. Our
best work is definitely still to come, so we though "I'm still
learning" would be an appropriate title for the CD.
Mike
O : Your currently on tour with My Hero Is Me, how has the tour been
going so far, everything you expected?
Otis : Yeah
man, Hero are some awesome dudes. We've known them for a while now, so
it's great to finally get to tour with them.
Mike O :
Are Every Bridge Burned a band that writes more on the road, or do you
normally do all the writing between home and the studio?
Otis : We primarily do all our writing while we're home. We've
been trying to write on the road, but the a/c is busted in our van, so
we're basically just miserable all the time!
Mike O : I haven't been able to find an
official video of you guys, is there one? Are there any plans to shoot
one in the near future?
Otis : As of right now, we
don't have an official music video. We'd really like to do one, but I
don't think we will be until our next CD comes out.
Mike
O : What is the main thing that first inspired you to play music?
Otis : The first thing that really made me want to play guitar
was when I was like... 4 or 5 years old and saw Greenday on TV for the
first time. I know it's kinda lame to say now, but back when Dookie
first came out, Greenday were the shit! The first time I really wanted
to start a band was when I was in middle school and went to my first
local punk rock show. I thought it was the coolest thing ever and just
watned to become a part of it.
Mike O : A lot of fans
want to know what equipment there favorite artist use, care to share?
Otis : Absolutely. I play a Mesa Boogie triple rectifier into a
Mesa oversized cabinet. I run a BBE sonic maximizer through my effects
loop, and a noise suppressor and a tuner between my guitar and my head.
Guitar-wise I play a Gibson Les Paul Gothic with Zakk Wylde EMGs.
Mike
O : Thanks again for taking the time to talk us, Anything else you
would like to say to all of your fans?
Otis : Thank
you so much to everyone who has ever come seen us live, let us crash at
their house, bought our CD, bought a CD, or who has just ever came up
and talked to us! We want to meet every single person that comes to our
shows, so never be afraid to come up and say hi.
